Learning disabilities affect several areas of functioning, and the sufferer will have difficulty to learning as quickly or in the same way as someone who is not affected by a learning disorder. People with a learning disability have trouble performing specific types of skills or completing tasks if left to figure things out by themselves or if taught in conventional ways. Types of learning disabilities include reading disorder (dyslexia), mathematics disorder (dyscalculia), writing disorder (dysgraphia) and nonverbal learning disorder (NVLD).
