Autism

Autism is a group of developmental disorders affecting social, communicative and cognitive abilities, and can be a lifelong condition of disability. More severely affected people often need lifelong care, while less severe cases might still require individual support. The various forms of autism form a spectrum, called autism spectrum disorder or pervasive developmental disorder. Specific symptoms can be observed in several areas of functioning, such as social relationships, communication, interests and activities, thinking and learning, movement and perception.
