Seasonal affective disorder is a form of mood disorder (described in ICD-10 as a recurrent depressive disorder), which is characterized by recurrent depressive episodes which tend to occur in winter months. The disorder is thought to be related to a lack of sunlight, and can be treated with light therapy.
