The term “modelling” refers to the act of learning behaviours from observing others. Modelling is a central concept in the social learning theory (see social cognitive theory) proposed by Albert Bandura.

The term can also can refer to a behaviour therapy technique, in which a client learns appropriate behaviours from observing a demonstration carried out by someone else.
