Jacques Lacan (1901-1981) was a French Psychoanalyst and psychiatrist, who reinterpreted and radicalized the Freudian theory of psychoanalysis. Lacan’s views sparked a lot of controversy among psychoanalysts and he also holds the dubious honour of being one of the most difficult authors to read.
